With the establishment of the polyvalent course system for psychotherapy in 2020 further training will be reorganized. At IAPNs we are planning to offer our own further training system from 2023 when the first graduates with a license to practice psychotherapy will begin the training as a specialist psychotherapist. In contrast to the previous psychotherapist training, which is closely based on methods (such as behavioral therapy, analytical psychotherapy), we are designing a cross- methodological training model that corresponds to the polyvalent principle of basic university training. Also in contrast to the traditional 3-pillar training (self-awareness, theory, clinical practice under supervision), a research module is integrated as a binding fourth pillar at the IANPs. Successful completion of the 5-year further training in psychotherapy entitles you to entry in the doctors register and thus enables you to participate in statutory health care.
